As of October 2, new domestic car-building forces have successively handed over the 2025 "Golden Ninth" answer sheet. Overall, most brandsachieved both year-on-year and month-on-month growth in September. Among them, the delivery volume of many brands such as Zero Run Automobile, Xiaopeng Automobile, Xiaomi Automobile, and Neo Automobile hit record highs.
The National Passenger Car Market Information Association stated that the "Golden September and Silver Ten" are thetraditionalpeak season for the automobile market. The national scrapping renewal policy and the local replacement policy of old-for-new are steadily implemented, and the amount of bicycle subsidies is relatively considerable. Coupled with the strengthening of the momentum of various manufacturers at the end of the quarter, the popularity of the auto market in September showed an explosive trend.
Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the Passenger Transport Association, said that at present, the old-for-new policy is gradually restarted in various regions, and the subsidy methods are more diversified, refined and precise, which is expected to bring good expectations to the automobile market.
Delivery volumeof manynew power car companies reaches new highs
In September, zero-running cars secured the top spot in sales with obvious advantages, delivering 66657 new cars, a year-on-year increase of 97%, breaking the monthly sales record of new power car companies; in the first nine months of this year, the cumulative sales volume of zero-running cars was 395,500.
A reporter from China Securities Journal learned from zero-running that the hot sales in September were mainly due to the steady growth in sales of B01, new C11, C16, C10 and B10 models, as well as the expansion of overseas markets. In September,theLafa5, a new and personalized zero-running model, was unveiled and is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year; in October, the D19, the first flagship zero-running model, will make its world debut. With the launch of new products, zero-running will hit the monthly sales mark of 70,000 vehicles.
In September, Hongmeng Zhixing performed outstandingly, delivering a total of 52916 new cars,becoming the runner-up in monthly delivery.Judging from the weekly sales data in September, Wenjie is still the "absolute responsibility" of sales; with the launch of R7 and S7 delivery, the sales of Zhijie have also increased; the launch of Xiangjie S9T has also driven sales growth; sales of Zunjie S800 continue to rise; Shangjie H5 will start delivery at the end of September, and its scale is expected to remain limited. With the launch of the large-scale delivery of the new M7 and H5 dual vehicles, Hongmeng Zhixing is expected to hit the monthly sales mark of 60,000 vehicles in October.
Relying on the sales contribution of the second brand MONA's first car, the M03, and the delivery of the new P7, Xiaopeng Automobile achieved a delivery performance of 41581 vehicles in September, a year-on-year increase of 95%, setting a new high in the brand's history. Ideal car sales in September were 33951 units, a year-on-year decrease of 36.8%, and the fifth consecutive month of year-on-year decline. In the first nine months of this year, Xiaomi has delivered more than 240,000 vehicles. Data from the Ministry of Commerce shows that as of September 10, the number of applications for car trade-in reached 8.3 million. The in-depth implementation of the car trade-in policy has effectively promoted the growth of automobile consumption, industrial upgrading and optimization of resource management.
Recently, car replacement subsidy policies in many regions across the country have undergone significant adjustments.The reporter observed that behind this series of adjustments is a clear shift in car replacement subsidies from "inclusive coverage" to "precise regulation"-the previous broad-spectrum subsidies regardless of models and consumer groups are gradually withdrawing, and the policy is more inclined to Focus on specific targets such as new energy vehicles and local groups who just need to buy cars to improve the efficiency of the use of subsidy funds.
Yan Jinghui, a member of the Expert Committee of China Automobile Dealers Association, said that local governments adjusted policies in a timely manner based on changes in fund use and market demand, which reflected the flexibility and pertinence of policies.
"In the first half of this year, the progress of applying for subsidies for trade-in cars greatly exceeded expectations. Since 300 billion yuan of subsidy financial support for the whole year was determined at the beginning of the year, it is understandable that various localities began to regulate the progress of subsidy disbursement in the second half of the year." Xu Haidong, deputy secretary-general of China Automobile Manufacturers Association, said.
Recently,data released by China Automobile Dealers Association showed that the total narrow passenger car retail market in September this year is expected to be around 2.15 million units, a month-on-month increase of 6.5% and a year-on-year increase of 2.0%. Among them, new energy retail sales can reach 1.25 million units, with a penetration rate of 58.1%.
Cui Dongshu believes that the contribution of swaps continues to increase, and consumption upgrades have become the absolute mainstream of car purchase.
